For those of you who read
the JULY 2005 BFNews, you will have read about FIRE ALERT who has had a long
road to recovery after a heart wrenching paddock accident. Well owner,
Danielle Hughes has sent in another update for us all to read.
"I thought you might
like an update on Alert. I've just brought him in from being turned out
during winter (turned out meaning in the back paddock and visiting him
every day!! ) He is a little on the fat side but moving well and still
shedding his coat as it is only half way out. He has a heap of attitude in
a good way so he must have enjoyed his break. I will start working him soon
just on some road rides without too much circle work. He has a really good
Vet Chiro working with us at the moment (where was she before?) and he has
gone leaps and bounds since her first visit with his left over nerve
damage. The nerve damage is almost completely non visible in his gaits now
which the Vet said it may holt at this point or may keep on improving. As
she said with nerve damage it is a very slow recovery. I will send you some
photos in the near future. I think we may miss this show season but here's
hoping for the next one!!!!! Seriously, I will be over the moon if we can
just do our road and trail riding let alone anything else but you've got to
aim for the stars at least don't you?!!"
- THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE DANI............
- we look forward to more, and
photos too.

bad for a purebred in open company)
